STASIA STOCKWELL is an outdoors journalist based below the ridges of the Tenmile Range in Breckenridge, Colorado. Her work focuses on outdoor adventure and the environment, and she hopes to connect readers from all backgrounds with nature in a meaningful way.

Stasia has worked as a freelance writer and editor for nearly a decade. Her bylines can be found in 5280, the Summit Daily, Treeline Review, BACKPACKER, REI’s Uncommon Path, Insider, and SKI, among others. She’s a staunch proponent of the great print revival and an adherent to the Oxford comma. As the managing editor for Trails Magazine, she helps produce stories for the independent, print-only, and pro-Oxford-comma publication.

Along with writing, Stasia spent a few seasons working as a backcountry guide in southeast Alaska. She’s a lifelong skier, mountain biker, backpacker, and trail runner who’s passionate about both lowering barriers to entry for outdoor sports and environmental sustainability. She hopes to provoke a sense of belonging in the outdoors through her work.
